- QI projects focused on removing pebbles and inefficiences for the front lines
- Swensen & Shanafelt. Physician-Organization Collaboration. J Healthc Manag. 2016 PMID 27111930. This article details the Mayo's effort to help clinical units execute qaulity improvement projectss, with the Listen-Act-Develop (in the book below, this is renamed Ask, Listen, Empower) model to remove the drivers or 'pebbles' creating burnout. More details in the following Shanafelt article and in the Swensen book below. Ignore their focus on physicians.

- Strategy 3: Develop and Implement Targeted Interventions that are basically QI projects that focus on pebbles or nuisances during work. Details are in their FIgure 4. More detail is in the Swensen article above and the Mayo book below, Chapter 16 Agency Action: Removing Pebbles.

- Sattler et al. Catalyzing System Change: 100 Quality Improvement Projects in 1000 Days. J Gen Intern Med. 2024 PMID: 37985609. This article, and Stanford's website at https://med.stanford.edu/pcph/Programs/PC-PEP.html, are a very good AGILE-based framework to efficientlly organize and manage QI projects after launching such as the Mayo recommendations to remove pebbles and inefficiencies.

- Book/journal clubs for learning communities
- More depth. Consider creating a learning community for managers around chapters in these books. This can include asynchronous, virtial discussion hosted in posts to a Microsoft Teams channel.
